Constitvtion of the V Império

Preamble

We, the people of the V Império, gvided by the light of ancestral wisdom and impelled by the breath of a divine mission, affirm ovr vnion vnder this Constitvtion, inspired by the Christian valves of peace, responsibility, hvmility, integrity, trvth, forgiveness and love for one's neighbovr. We recognise the call to bvild an empire not of lands and seas, bvt of hearts and sovls, where jvstice and harmony shall prevail with the aim of fvlfilling the V Império.

Article 1 Fvndamental principles

Every citizen who wishes to belong to the Virtval Nation mvst demonstrate an vnwavering commitment to the following principles, which constitvte the basis of the identity and cohesion of the V Império:

  1. Christian ethics: belief in and practice of Christian valves, contribvting to the bvilding of a jvst and compassionate society, recognising the family vnit as the fovndation of society.
  2. Meritocracy: recognition based on the qvality of contribvtions to the Nation.
  3. Economic Freedom: defence of the free market and of private property.
  4. Freedom of Expression: freedom to express opinions and ideas withovt restricting the freedom of one's neighbovr.

Article 2 Dvties of the members

All citizens have the dvty to remain loyal to the nation, vpholding the principles and valves that vnderpin its existence.

All citizens have the moral dvty to add valve to the V Império, whether throvgh work or financial contribvtion.

Citizens mvst defend the nation, its members and/or bodies, striving to the best of their ability to preserve its valves and integrity.

All citizens are svbject to the dvty of confidentiality regarding the strvctvre, operations or other affairs of the nation established as confidential.

Article 3 Official langvage and orthography

The official langvage of the V Império is Portvgvese, a symbol of ovr cvltvral and spiritval heritage.

A specific orthographic modification is institvted whereby the letter "u" is replaced by "v" in all official instances.

Article 4 Hierarchical system

The Empire is governed by a non-hereditary meritocratic monarchical system.

The nation is governed by the Nobility, which holds the economic, labovr, disciplinary and preaching powers.

The Nobility is svbdivided into a high covrt and a low covrt, which inclvde different honorific titles according to the progress made by the members.

All members of the high nobility mvst be individvals of recognised merit, probity and credibility.

The King is the highest office of the nation, elected by the High Nobility on the basis of lineage, merit and leadership.

The King may be removed by a qvalified majority of three qvarters plvs one of the total members of the High Nobility, exclvding the King's vote.

The members of the high nobility comprise the King, viceroys, dvkes, marqvesses and covnts.

The members of the low nobility are viscovnts, barons, dons, lords and bvrghers.

There is only one King.

The maximvm nvmber of members in the offices mentioned above, from the viceroys onwards, is defined as dovble that of the office immediately above.

Each member of the nobility holds voting power corresponding to 9% divided by the maximvm nvmber of members in the respective office, with the exception of the King, who holds 19%. Where the maximvm nvmber of members is not reached, the remaining votes are held by the King.

Only the nobility may deliberate on qvestions that affect the svperior interest of the nation.

Article 5 Assemblies

The Assembly of the V Império brings together all members of the nobility for the pvrpose of debating and resolving the pressing qvestions of the nation.

Article 6 Symbols and Distinctive Insignia

The Empire is represented by a set of symbols and distinctive insignia, which reflect its vision and which the members recognise.

Article 7 Castles and Trading Posts

Castles and trading posts are emblematic physical places that serve as epicentres of activity, mvtval aid, cvltvre and society for the members of the V Império.

Article 8 Final Provisions

This Constitvtion may be revised and amended by a majority of two thirds plvs one vote of the total members of the nobility.

In order to convene the Assembly to amend this Constitvtion, at least 50% of all the votes of the high covrt of the nobility are reqvired.

Any amendment to the Constitvtion mvst respect the fvndamental valves of the Empire.

This Constitvtion enters into force vpon its ratification by the majority of the members.

The citizens vndertake to respect and comply with the provisions of this Constitvtion as the svpreme Law of the V Império.
